• In early 2017, a friend of ours referred an organic lawn care service provider. The company is Greenskeeper Lawn Care, and they are located in Bridgeport, CT. We spoke with the president and owner, Joe Konkol, and he expressed concerns over his website visibility on Google. His goal is to maximize rankings in the organic search listings, to attract more customers from surrounding towns and cities.

    Joe had been using paid advertising through another company, and now wanted to focus more on his organic search engine results. At first glance, we could see that their competitors were outranking them across many of the “lawn care” and “tick control” related keyphrases. This repeated across many terms.

    We consulted further with Joe, watched a few videos on his company YouTube channel, and spent more time learning about the business. This was done to help our keyword research efforts. The goal was to select the strongest phrases related to his services.

    Our overall solution was to provide Greenskeeper with ongoing search engine optimization (SEO) services. The reason is because SEO focuses on improving organic rankings for select keywords. Pay-per-click (PPC), or paid advertising, does not help organic rankings at all.

    We set up a list of target keyword phrases using our formula:

    Keyphrase + Town / City + State = “Target Keyword Phrase” 

    We then ran a thorough website audit for GreenskeeperLawnCare.com, and made sure it was fully optimized. In order to get the best traffic conversions, we consulted with Joe about restructuring his company website. He agreed, and we completed the process within 1 week.

  • As soon as the website was fully complete, we began our link outreach process. The purpose of link outreach is to gain strong links from other websites and blogs, to improve the authority of client websites. It also helps with the organic rankings. To do this, we generate helpful content related to Greenskeeper Lawn Care, offer it to website and blog owners for free, then simply ask them to post directly on their website with a corresponding backlink.

    We also created web 2.0 links, and completed a social bookmarking campaign.

    Greenskeeper Lawn Care initially began with very low rankings. For some areas we couldn’t locate the website listing at all. In about 4 months, we have obtained page 1 rankings for about 30 target keyword phrases on Google!

    Joe is very happy with the results, and we continue working hard to get him higher visibility.
